Mani Ratnam hospitalized!

Ace director Mani Ratnam, one of the most sought-after directors in India, who has been busy working on his big budget bilingual film tentatively titled Ravan/Asokavanam starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram, has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Wednesday�after a minor heart attack last night. Hospital sources say that the 52-year-old director was admitted to�hospital after he complained of breathing difficulty and discomfort in the chest. The condition of Ratnam, who is under observation in ICU, is now stable and he would remain in the hospital for some time.

Mani Ratnam had just returned from his hectic Kolkata schedule and was planning to leave for Kerala to shoot the climax of Ravan from April 20. The shooting has now been postponed.

This is the third time in the last�five years that Mani Ratnam has suffered�a heart attack. The first attack was in December 2004 at Panaji, Goa, shortly before the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India. He had a second attack during the shoot of Guru on top of the Howrah Bridge in Kolkata in 2006.
