Madurai Sambhavam music review!
Having made a mark with his debut Thoothukudi, Hari Kumar’s upcoming Madurai Sambhavam, in which he pairs with Anuya of SMS fame, is also raising expectations. The film has music by John Peter and the album is a Think Music release.
‘Vaigai Aatril’ is by Nithyashree and Sriram. The lyrics talk about Kallazhagar Thiruvizha, the famous temple cultural extravaganza in Madurai. The song is set in a high pitch and both the singers render it with élan. ‘Kulathil Mudhal’ by Chinmayi and Hariharan is warm, melodic and has an interesting rhythm. Chinmayi’s voice has yet another transformed feel for this song. Next is hero Harikumar’s effort to keep up with the tradition of heroes singing in their movies. He has sung the four-liner ‘Suttuputtan’. Harish Raghavendra and Sadhana Sargam’s ‘Oru Ilavam Panju’ is a soft song. ‘Landhu koduppom’ is a duet in Shankar Mahadevan and Harikumar’s voices. ‘Kannazhaga’ has a folksy touch. Both Anuradha Sriram and Benny Dayal’s experience and expertise comes out in the number. Manicka Vinayagam concludes the album with his ‘Pogudhada’, another folk song in the album presented in a different voice with a different timbre.
John Peter’s music for Madurai Sambhavam is promising.
