M3V grabs attention at IFFI 08
Silencing all those who questioned its entry in the IFFI '08, Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai (M3V), the supposedly-first “metro movie” in Tamil, won laurels at the prestigious annual international film festival held by India. M3V, which is about today’s youth and their ambitions, was screened in the Indian Panorama section of IFFI. The film’s idea and the manner it was put across appealed to everyone. It is also heard that all this attention has prompted the film's director Krishnan Seshadri Gomatham to dub this film in other languages, especially Hindi.
The film, which stars about 100 newcomers, received the audience’s undivided attention and a standing ovation at the end of the screening at IFFI. But of all the words of praise, the most elating was perhaps when the audience said "M3V is as good as Aamir Khan's Tare Zameen Par." Well, that comparison shows the universal appeal the film has and justifies the selection panel’s decision of selecting this film overlooking many others.
