Kuruvi turns Dopidi in Telugu

Ilayathalapathi Vijay's Kuruvi (2008), directed by Dharani with Trisha as heroine, is being dubbed in Telugu as Dopidi. Popular distributor B. Satyanarayana recently bagged the Telugu rights of the film. The dubbed version will soon hit screens under the distribution concern of Abhi Pictures. Made with a whopping budget of Rs. 25 crores, Kuruvi ran 150 days in Tamil Nadu. Suman is the villain.

The film revolves around Vetrivel, a fun-loving young man who takes care of his family in his father's absence. His carefree life is disturbed when his landlord asks Vetrivel's family to vacate the house since their rent is overdue. On enquiry, Vetri learns that rent payments have been irregular since some months. Vetri then investigates why his father could not pay the rent and unearths the devilish dealings of a don Koccha (Suman) and the functioning of his entire network. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
