Kanal Kannan in Sankaran Koil

Encouraged by the good show of Satrumun Kidaitha Thagaval which marked his transformation into a Kollywood hero, stunt choreographer Kanal Kannan has accepted the lead role of Sankaran Koil. To be produced by Hemavathi Kannan for Shivadharshini Cine Arts and directed by Bhuvanai Kannan, Sanakaran Koil will be a complete commercial film. The heroine will be finalized soon and�shooting will start in May.

Having choreographed stunts for over 400 films in various languages, Kanal Kannan also played small roles in several films, including Padaiyappa and Avvai Shanmugi. The actor states that he always loved acting and considers his lead role�in Satrumun Kidaitha Thagaval a blessing, a turning point in his life. But he is quick to add that he has no idea of becoming a full-time actor and will continue choreographing stunts for films.
