K. Balachander back on TV

First, he rose to great heights with his celluloid creations; then he took the plunge into TV, and came out a winner again. K Balachander is a well-known name; though his recent movies have not made much impact, he continues to be revered for his unique contibutions to cinema. His forte is delving into the secret crannies in relationships. He has dealt with the murky side as well as the sunny side of relationships, and carved a niche for himself in the business. His fans forever remain his loyalists. His TV serials such as Premi, Kai Alavu Manasu, Kaasalavu Nesam, Sahanna, and so on were trend-setters. Financial upheavals stole his time but now, KB is back at what he does best.

Starting on 23rd March, every day at 7 p.m. on Zee Tamil, Sollathan Ninaikiren will be broadcast bringing a story in which the father-daughter relationship is the foundation. A certain secret that the father had involving his daughter is accidentally revealed, and this puts a crack in their hitherto flawless relationship. What is the secret? How do they resolve their troubles? That is the essence of this serial.

Playing the lead roles are Raghavendra and Kavya. Kavya made her small screen debut by playing the title role in KB's Sahanna. Also in the cast are Yuvarani, Devadharshini, Fatima Babu, Sureshwar, Rajmadhan, Ravikanth, Vizhudhugal Santhanam, Aravind, Rajkumar and many others. Screenplay for the serial is by KB, while the story and direction will be handled by Bombay Chanakya.
