James Vasanthan debuts in Malayalam
Popular Tamil TV anchor James Vasanthan, who shot to unexpected fame as a music director with five super hit songs including 'Kankal iranthaal' of writer-director-actor Sasikumar's path breaking Tamil film Subramaniapuram (2008), is all set to debut in Malayalam.
James will be scoring music for Mammootty's upcoming Doubles, marking the Malayalam reentry of yesteryear Tamil-Malayalam actress Nadiya Moidu after a gap of 15 years! To be directed by debutante Sohan Sinulal, an associate of Shafi and Siddique, Doubles will have four songs set by James Vasanthan to lyrics written by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma.
The film is produced by Narayanadas under the banner of Creative Team. Hit makers Sachi and Sethu handle the script. Also in the cast are Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaaramoodu and Bijukuttan.
After Subramaniapuram, James Vasanthan scored music for super hit Pasanga. Apart from Doubles, he is currently working for three Tamil films: Naanayam, Yathumaagi and bilingual Police Quarters.
