I regret having said 'No': Bhavana
Bhavana, one of the most gorgeous actresses of Mollywood, has all reasons to be very happy these days! After her prime roles in the Malayalam multi-starrer Twenty:20 and Prithviraj starrer Lollipop, Bhavana is now cast in two consecutive Malayalam Mohanlal starrers (Sagar Alias Jackie - Reloaded and Casanova) and has been confirmed as the heroine in Telugu actor Srikanth's prestigious 100th film Mahatma with ace director Krishnavamsi.
However, Bhavana honestly admits that she regrets having said 'No' to roles in some films that went on to become super hits. "Chocolate (Malayalam) and M. Kumaran, Son of Mahalakshmi (Tamil) are two such movies. I also regret having done films such as Hridayathil Sookshikkan (Malayalam) and Rameswaram (Tamil). About some roles, I never regret. For instance, I was invited to act in the Tamil remake of Chinthamani Kola Case. But I didn’t accept the offer as I was sure that the character would not get wide acceptance in Tamil," she was quoted as saying.
Talking about Bhavana's notorious skin show in a song of Twenty:20, the actress said: "Some people criticized my dress in the song 'O Priya' in Twenty:20. But the song situation demanded such costumes. It was shot in a foreign locale. How could I wear the dress of a girl next door there? Many of my well-wishers, including women, appreciated the costumes in the film. I am happy about the way I am portrayed in the film."
Asked about her favourite role in recent films, she names her role in Prithviraj starrer Lollipop. "Though Lollipop failed at the box office, my character in the film is dear to me. Actors like me are unable to select roles in tune with the interests of audiences. I can do justice only to the characters that come to me. I am not ready to stick to only Malayalam. If I get the opportunity to portray a good character, no matter what the language, I will do it. In Kollywood, Malayalee actors are treated like god and I am comfortable there. Nobody forced me to into glamorous roles. I opted for a makeover when the character demanded it."
