Silambarasan aka Simbu aka STR, epitome of the revolutionary new-age hero celebrates his birthday today and we wish him a very happy birthday. STR has been seen on the silver screen since his infant days; he was later introduced as ‘Little Superstar’ by his star-dad T. Rajendar. He made his debut as a lead star in his father’s production Kadhal Azhivadhilai, which fetched him roles in Dum and Kuthu. Simbu's antics and style got noticed among audiences and critics alike. After a few ups and downs, he took a year’s break and worked on the script of Manmadhan; the effort proved his instincts and timing right; Manmadhan became a sensational hit. Vallavan followed, for which he penned the story and screenplay apart from directing the movie.
But it was Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa that gave him not just a huge hit but also proved that he could do more that just te bad boy roles! The film, which created wonders at the box office, also showcased STR in a new and subtle avatar. Of course who can forget the sensational tracks composed by A.R. Rahman in VTV. 2011 was the year of remakes for STR. Both his release were remakes; Vaanam, remake of of the Telugu hit Vedam and Osthe, remake of the Hindi blockbuster Dabangg.
He is currently busy with his music video 'Love anthem for world peace' for which he is trying to rope in many international celebrities. Apart from that Simbu is also working on Podaa Podi, a romantic musical with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vettai Mannan, a gangster flick co-starring Jai and Vettrimaran's pet project Vada Chennai.
