Happy birthday Simbu!
Silambarasan aka Simbu is a symbol of the revolutionary new-age heroism that influences Kollywood today. Introduced with the catchy title ‘Little Superstar’ to the industry, both Simbu and his star-dad T. Rajendar have firm plans to give their individual bests. 2010 is Simbu’s 25th year in cinema and today is his 25th birthday. Yes, he has been seen on the silver screen even when he was an infant!
Till he readied himself for his hero debut, Simbu kept appearing in Rajendar’s films in significant bit-parts coupled with dance sequences. In fact, Rajendar believes his son’s presence is the lucky charm that helped his movies run to packed houses.
Similar to his introduction, his launch as hero took place through his father’s production Kadhal Azhivadhilai. Though not a big hit, his acting fetched Simbu roles in Dum and Kuthu. In both these films, Simbu tried his own concept of using his fingers to symbolize some antics and the style got noticed among audiences and critics. Further, Alai with Trisha and Kovil directed by Saami earned him a more secure place in the industry. Judging it to be the suitable moment for establishing his style and identity, he took a year’s break and worked on the script of Manmadhan; the effort proved his instincts and timing right; Manmadhan became a sensational hit.
Following Manmadhan, he temporarily gave up direction to act in Thotti Jaya, a gangster film directed by Durai. Then came Vallavan with Simbu’s story, screenplay and direction. Soon after Vallavan, Simbu began his next project Kettavan which was stalled. His chocalate boy looks in his upcoming release Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa has raised expectations as he pairs with the sensational Trisha after a long time. Hence, this birthday is very special for Simbu since his first release in 2010 is touted to be a hit even before its release. Then surely there should be a party to celebrate it. Yes, He’s throwing a big party but has invited only his nearest and dearest buddies. Still, let us all join in heart and wish Simbu all the very best.
Galatta.com wishes this young actor a very happy birthday!
