Happy Birthday Gouthami

Actor, designer, social activist, mother - a woman of substance. Gouthami has donned all these roles with style and panache.

Gouthami was an aspiring electronics engineer when she got her first film break in Guru Shishyan, starring Superstar Rajinikanth. After such a big debut, it was but natural that there were many more offers and this engineer became an actress. Working with amongst the best in the industry and across languages, she has several memorable films to her credit, notably Apoorva Sagodharargal with Kamal Haasan, Raja Chinna Roja with Rajinikanth, His Highness Abdullah with Mohanlal, Thevar Magan and Nammavar with Kamal again and Mani Ratnam's Iruvar. She also designed the cotumes for Kamal Haasan's magnum opus Dasavathaaram. She is currently working in Venkat Prabhu's Saroja.

Besides films, Gouthami has been part of several charitable causes.
