G.V. Prakash at 'Sing a Song' contest!
Film playback singing is one of the competitive spheres in moviedom. Many talented young singers want to take up playback singing as a full-time profession. To identify fresh voices, Chennai's FM Station Radio Mirchi 98.3 conducted a voice hunt. The offer invited talented singers to apply and sing a song from the recently-released Anandha Thandavam, a G.V. Prakash musical. The winners are assured of an opportunity to sing in one of G.V. Prakash's forthcoming productions. About 200 contestants applied for the voice hunt and 20 were shortlisted. These 29 were given a chance to sing before G.V. Prakash. Radio Mirchi's voice hunt thus provided a suitable platform for young singers to enter the movie arena.
