Gollapudi Srinivas National Awards nominees announced

The Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Foundation, founded in memory of a budding director by the same name,�presents an annual�award�to talented directors. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000 with a momento. The nominees for the award are announced on March 17th every year and the award ceremony is held on August 12th. Many eminent celebrities from the field of cinema such as Jaya Bachchan, Sunil Dutt, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Aparna Sen, Govind Nihalani, Naseeruddin Shah and�Shekhar Kapoor have graced the function in the last�ten years.

The star-studded annual award ceremony starts with the screening of the foundation's profile video, followed by the presentation of the award to the director.�To make the event more useful and relevant to the film fraternity, a memorial lecture is delivered by an eminent film personality. The Gollapudi Srinivas award�bestow very good recognition to the chosen award-winning directors and also serves as a good platform for interaction. By this, the family of�young director Gollapudi Srinivas (who died while working on his maiden movie)�derives a sense of satisfying his dreams and vision. Also, the lectures are compiled into a book�for making the information more widespread and useful.�
