Galatta.com, successful partner of superhit cinema and actors

When Galatta.com received with the best movie website award from the MGR-Sivaji Academy on New Year's Day, 2009, it was indeed a great and well-deserved honour. The award, presented by Mr. L.M.M. Muralidharan, Mr. Kalipuli S. Dhanu & Mr. Kalipulli G. Sekaran (President of Tamilnadu Film Distributors' Association), was accepted on behalf of Galatta.com by Mr. Girish Ramdas, President, Galatta.com and Mrs. Shri Shakthi Girish, Editor, Galatta Cinema.

The award was part of the Popular awards given by the Academy to achievers from the Tamil film fraternity. These awards were instituted 23 years ago and carry a lot of prestige and recogniton. This year, 82 awards for excellence in Tamil Cinema were given away.

Without trying sound arrogant, we are happy to blow our own trumpet on this occasion and are proud to have been associated with some of the biggest box office grosser, banners and stars.

The biggest hit of Tamil Cinema is Chandramukhi. The top hit of 2007 was Sivaji. The movies did well, not only in India, but also in the international market. And Galatta.com was the official online partner for these Superstar flicks. Another film that we are proud to be associated with is the Ajith starrer Billa. Another stylish film, that did well in India and overseas. It would not be an exaggeration to say that these films put Tamil Cinema on the world map and Galatta.com was part of this process.
