G3 launched with fanfare!

G3, the parties and events supplement of Galatta Cinema, was launched with much fanfare on Thursday, July 9, 2009 and is still being talked about in newspapers around the city.

To recap, it was a fun-filled evening at the Blend lounge bar (a Taj Hotels establishment) in Chennai, where Galatta.com launched its society-and-events supplement called G3 – the third brand after Galatta.com and Galatta Cinema. Organized in association with Taj Mount Road and Lanson Toyota, it was a rocking night filled with film celebrities and Chennai’s most popular socialites and bigwigs.

The aim of the evening was simple – fun-loving people from different walks of life and different interests meeting at one place in the spirit of togetherness. This is, after all, the motto of G3 also – covering people and events around Chennai. The theme was green or a combination of green and black and it was great to see most people take the trouble to dress in tune with the theme! The music was infectious, as was the laughter and bonhomie. It is rare to see a party in Chennai which breaks cliques and brings different types of people together and the G3 launch was one such – there were friends, social celebrities, age groups between 24 and 70, film celebrities and more!

Mr. Lankalingam, MD, Lanson Toyota, released the first issue of G3 with the covergirl, actress Lekha Washington who made the time to fly over from Mumbai specially for the event.

Film personalities present at the launch party included Sivaji Productions' Mr. Ramkumar, icons Radikaa Sarathkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Shoba and George, directors Gautham Menon, Vishnuvardhan, Pushkar and Gayatri and Selvaraghavan, producer S.P. Charan, Yuvanshankar Raja, cinematographer Arvind Krishna and wife Anu and actors Sreeman, Abbas (who came with designer wife, the lovely Erum Ali), Adithya and Narain. It was also a pleasure to see Lizzy Priyadarshan, yesteryear star Ragini’s daughter and socialite Mahalakshmi Jayanth, Sonia Agarwal, Lakshmi Rai, Yuva, Ajmal, Vijay (Nadodigal and Chennai 28 fame), singers Chinmayee, Sunitha Sarathy and Krish, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SS Music VJs Cary, Paloma, Craig and Pooja, designers Chaitanya Rao and Priya Manikandan and even Noell James, manager to A.R. Rahman, who came with his family!

Girish Ramdas, President Galatta.com said that it was amazing to see people make it in theme for the party and have a wonderful time – nothing else can please the host more! He also said that the General Manager of Taj Mount Road, Mr. Sanjay Sood and the staff at Blend had given Galatta.com complete support and cooperation and the event would just not have been possible without them.

G3 is a complimentary supplement of Galatta Cinema and can also be found in urban establishments around Chennai city like hotels, salons, etc.
