FICUS bags Robot USA rights

Leading distribution company FICUS has bagged the USA theatrical rights of both Tamil and Telugu versions of superstar Rajinikanth’s forthcoming Robot (Endhiran), directed by veteran Shankar with a whopping budget of over 150 crores. This sci-fi flick has Rajnikanth in a double role -- a man and a robot -- opposite Aishwarya Rai.

"A large chunk of the Rs. 150 crores was spent on Hollywood-like special effects. We spent more than Rs. 50 crore on the graphics alone. We thought it would be India’s most expensive film, but it ended up being Asia’s most expensive," co-producer Hansraj Saxena said. The film will hit screens soon.
