We had earlier reported that actor Kamal Haasan’s next film after Vishwaroopam 2 and Uttama Villain would be the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster film Drishyam. The remake version will also be helmed by Jeetu Joseph, who directed the original version.

A famous filmmaker in Malayalam industry, Satheesh Paul has signed a petition with the Ernakulam District Court seeking help to stop shooting for Drishyam remake. He has stated in the petition that Drishyam is a copy of his story Oru Mazhakalathu which was published in 2013.

However, the makers of the Tamil version have decided to deal with the issues legally. We hear that the film would go on floors as soon as this issue is solved. Ironically the Telugu version is already out and has been well received.
