Dhurai: Flavour of the season

Whenever P.L. Thenappan produces a film, it turns out to be a big hit. What will happen if this clever producer joins hands with A.Venkatesh, king of commercials? You get a perfect entertainer like Dhurai, which releases on October 1st.

Dhurai, a film about the henchman of a political party and his revolt against the oppressing social system, lays down a perfect platform for “action king” Arjun to showcase his fighting and acting skills. Arjun’s last film, Marudhamalai, had been a stupendous success; Dhurai is an improvement on his previous attempt and you are sure to savour every moment spent watching it.

Apart from the incredible action sequences, especially the stunt scene involving Arjun and Bollywood actor Amit Dhawan, the film has quite a lot to offer.

Beauty and glamour: Three beautiful ladies – Gajala, Keerath and Suma – provide adequate glamour. In fact, Keerath and Suma have displayed oodles of glamour. Gajala, who personifies serenity, has a role that will win viewers’ hearts.

Music: Imman, who is Arjun’s old friend as well, has composed beautiful music for Dhurai. The remix version of yesteryear chartbuster ‘Raja Rajathi Raja’ (Agni Natchathiram) is the highlight of this film. The song’s opening line sounds like a mixture of kuthu and modern music and is interesting, but care has been taken not to destroy the original tune. As the song proceeds, nostalgia and the old charm of this song takes over.

Comedy track: You will laugh uncontrollably watching Vivek’s antics and when Arjun teams up with him, the effect is augmented. Remember how Arjun and Vadivelu rocked in Marudhamalai?! This will be even better! By the time you leave the theatre, your abs would be in spasms after rigorous laughing!

Screenplay and narration: A. Venkatesh, the king of commercial entertainers, is an expert of maintaining viewers’ interest levels till the end of a film. Dhurai will stand as an example of his good work. Without going astray from its interesting elements, the film proceeds at a good pace, keeping the viewers enthralled till the end.

For wholesome entertainment, watch Dhurai.
