Entertainment company Pyramid Saimira has filed a case in the Chennai High Court, seeking a stay on the release of Kamal Haasan’s upcoming movie Vishwaroopam. Pyramid Saimira and Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal films had come together to produce Marmayogi, earlier. They entered the joint venture in April 2002 to produce the film in Tamil and Hindi for an estimated cost of 100 crores.

Since nothing came out of the joint venture and the movie was never made, Pyramid Saimira sought the 10.9 crores along with interest that they had given to the actor. They had even sent a legal notice to him. On receiving no response, they have gone ahead and registered a complaint with the Chennai High Court. Justice K Venkatraman, who is handling the case, has directed Kamal Haasan to file a reply petition with the Court immediately. The next hearing will be on January 4.
