Big B surprised Vikram

Vikram is acting alongside one of India’s biggest stars and one of India’s most beautiful women, that too in one of India’s most admired directors’ movie. Sounds like a dream? But what took Vikram by surprise was when Amitabh Bachcan said�he is familiar with Vikram's work. Big B has watched Vikram’s Saamy and Dhool! “It was a pleasant surprise when Mr. Bachchan told me that they had songs of my films in their car and DVDs of my films at home,” says Vikram. And to top it all, Abhishek Bachchan went to the extent of saying that he admired Vikram’s work! Coming from a member of Indian cinema’s royal family, the compliment has really done oodles of good for the actor, who has been a tad upset over the delay in Kanthaswamy and the lukewarm response to his last movie Bheema.

How did he enjoy working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan? “She has definitely improved a lot and it was nice working with her,” says the actor.�Working with such a star cast in Mani Ratnam’s movie is obviously a challenging proposition, but Vikram has no complaints. “I used to wake up at 4 a.m. and go for the shooting and return for rehearsals very late at night. I’d browse through my dialogues after 11 p.m. for the next day,” he recounts, but there is not a hint of how tiring it was, all we sense is his excitement at having been associated with a movie that is sure to make waves across the globe.
