BIG Pictures co-producing Raavana, says CEO

Reliance BIG Pictures CEO Sanjeev Lamba denied media reports that Big Pictures was supposed to produce ace director Mani Ratnam's Raavana, but later backed off due to unknown reasons. He said that BIG Pictures had been associated with Raavana from day one.

"We are co-producing the film with Ratnam’s production house Madras Talkies. We are associated with the film from day one. The reports that we backed off are not true. The film is now in post production. We hope to release it globally in March-April," Lamba was quoted as saying.

Asked about the budget of the film, Lamba said: "We don't talk about the budget of the film. I can tell you that it is one of the biggest films being made in the country." Said to be a modern interpretation of the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana, the film is being made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
