Asianet bags Pazhassi Raja rights at record price
Noted Malayalam general entertainment television channel Asianet, a subsidiary of Asianet Communications Limited (jointly owned by Star TV and Jupiter Entertaintment), has bagged the satellite rights of the costliest-ever Malayalam film Pazhassi Raja for a whopping Rs. 2.60 crore! It is the highest ever price paid for a film’s television rights in Malayalam, surpassing the. Rs 2.25 crore record set by Twenty:20.
The film, written by Jnanpith winner M.T. Vasudevan Nair and directed by Hariharan, is rocking the Kerala box office and is on its way to become one of the biggest grossers ever in the language. The Tamil dubbed version of Pazhassi Raja will be released all over Tamil Nadu on November 6.
