Anandhapurathu Veedu: A remake of Kanaakanmani?
After the grand success of his seventh production venture Eeram, Kollywood's much acclaimed director Shankar is back with his next project. Titled Anandhapurathu Veedu, this supernatural thriller is directed by newcomer Naga, who directed the teleserial 'Marmadesam'.
Anandhapurathu Veedu revolves around a married couple who return to their hometown and decide to stay in their ancestral house that has been locked for the past 25 years. Here, mysterious events happen and the haunting begins. Some say the film is the remake of Jayaram's 2009 Malayalam flick Kaanakanmani, directed by Veruthe Oru Bharya fame Akku Akbar.
Staring Nanda and Chaya Singh in the lead roles with child actor Aryan making his debut, Anandhapurathu Veedu has already completed its shooting and is slated to hit screens during April. Notably, hero Nanda had previously performed as the antagonist in Eeram. Reportedly, Shankar was bowled over by Nanda’s extraordinary performance in Eeram and so offered him the lead role in Anandhapurathu Veedu.
