Actor Manoj turns director

Remake films are considered safe bets by many producers and directors as they are well-received by the audiences. The latest to join this list is Manoj (Bharathi Raja's son).

Manoj made his acting debut through Tajmahal directed by his father, but the film did not do much for his career. After several acting attempts, Manoj turned to direction. After working with versatile filmmakers like Shankar and Mani Ratnam, Manoj has announced that he would be remaking his father's blockbuster movie Sigappu Rojakkal, which starred Kamal Haasan as a psychopath. Sridevi played the female lead.

Talking about the film, Manoj said that the movie would be made in Hollywood style. The cast would be decided only after the script is ready. As of now, Yuvanshankar Raja has been finalized for music.
