Senior Journalist, actor, political analyst Cho Ramasamy passed away at the Apollo Hospitals today early morning. A former Rajya Sabha BJP member, Cho was 82 and was ailing for sometime in the hospital.

Cho founded and served as the editor of Tuglak, a political monthly that never feared in criticising the state and centre. Cho was a close aide of Late CM Jayalalithaa and shares a great rapport with many top politicians and actor. He has written, directed and acted in over 20 Tamil plays, acted in 180 movies, scripted 14 movies, and directed four films.

He is survived by wife, son and daughter.

PM Modi expressed his deep condolence and tweeted, "Cho Ramaswamy was a multidimensional personality, towering intellectual, great nationalist & fearless voice who was respected and admired."
