Vinay speaks about his English film
Earlier, we have reported that handsome hunk Vinay has signed an upcoming English film titled Dame 999. Pretty Vimala Raman will play the role of a Malayalee girl falling in love with an Englishman in this film. The story is about the events in the life of an engineer and revolves around an old dilapidated dam in India built during the colonial rule.
The duo will share screen space with many Hollywood and Indian counterparts, including Thilakan, Rajit Kapur, Ashish Vidyarthi, Joshua Fredric, Jaia Pickering, Aryan, Tulip Joshi, Linda Arsenio, Barry John, Eric Sherman, Ajayan Vincent, Ouseppachan, K.S. Chitra, P. Jayachandran, Thotta Tharani, Sreekar Prasad, Shahjith, Pattanam Rasheed and S.B. Sateesh.
Dame 999 is directed by debutant Suhan Roy, an engineer by profession. “It’s fabulous and a whole new experience. It’s completely different from working in the Telugu and Tamil film industries; it demands subtle acting,” says an excited Vinay to a leading English daily.
The crew is reportedly shooting at the backwaters of Kerala right now. So how did it happen? “I was shooting for a Tamil film when I met art director Thotta Tharani, who told me about this English film. Within a couple of days, the director called me and we signed a contract!” he added.
Currently the Bangalore based chocolate hero is busy with the Tamil film Nootruku Nooru and a Telugu film Veele. So what about the actor's first love of rugby? “Unfortunately, I can’t play with my busy shooting schedules. Moreover, I can’t be injured, which usually happens while I’m playing. But the good news is that I’ve recently been elected president of Bangalore Rugby Football Play and very soon, I’ll participate in Chennai Rugby,” he signs off.
