Vijay's next blockbuster Villu is all set to hit screens on Pongal. With Pongal falling close to the weekend, Villu is assured of a record collection in the opening weekend. With Nayantara opposite Vijay for the first time (though they danced for the item song 'Kodambakkam area' in Sivakasi), Vijay's fans are expecting quite a treat this Pongal.

Directed by dance-choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva, the film is produced by Arun Pandian under Ayngaran International banner. A full-fledged action-entertainer with all of Vijay's trademark dialogues, mannerisms and fights to keep his fans happy, the storyline of the film is under wraps, though insiders insist Villu is a remake of the Bobby Deol-Priety Zinta starrer Soldier.
