Soundarya's Ocher studio in trouble again?
Sources insist that Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios is in trouble again. This time Anil Ambani's Reliance Media Works (RMW) has filed a case against the animation studio to recover the Rs. 11.59 crores they invested for the Rajni starrer animation film Sultan - The Warrior.
RMW moved the Madras High Court on February 16, 2010, to restrain Ocher Studio from releasing, exhibiting, marketing or distributing or in any other manner dealing with the film, without settling its dues together with an interest component of 12% per annum payable from September 22, 2009 till the date of repayment.
Acording to the case, Reliance Media signed a contract with Ocher Studios in January 2008 to jointly produce Sultan - The Warrior which was slated for release in April 2009. RMW, after terminating its contract with Ocher in June 2009, failed to recover their dues worth Rs. 11.59 crores and has now filed a suit against the company.
The case is scheduled to come up for hearing on March 29. There are also reports that the animated film Sultan - The Warrior will release in June.
Interestingly, Soundarya Rajinikanth's debut production Goa also faced a similar problem before its release and was finally released only after settling the dues.
