Roland Kickinger, villain in Peraanmai

It looks like Hollywood is totally enamoured by Indian films, particularly by Kollywood. Of late, there has been a steady influx of Hollywood actors in Kollywood. We have John Shea acting in Achamundu Achamundu on one side and on the other Venkat Prabhu is on the lookout for Hollywood artists willing to work in Tamil films (for his upcoming Goa). Now, we have a very important Hollywood actor who has replaced Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator in Terminator Salvation (fourth in the Terminator series which stars Christian Bale) working in Jayam Ravi starrer Peraanmai as the villain. Meet Mr. Roland Kickinger, the new age terminator!

A brief introduction about Roland Kickinger: Today he is the man who has realized his dream. As a child when he saw Arnold Schwarzenegger on the silver screen, he decided that he would be like him when he grew up – a bodybuilder first and then an actor. He stuck to his ambition with the same determination that Arnold had. And just like his role model, Roland became a bodybuilder first and then an actor; he won the Mr. Universe title in 1995, the prestigious Arnold Classic in 1996, and now, he is a very important actor in Hollywood. He never thought that one day he would play the role that became an integral part of Arnold’s identity – The Terminator!

It was director Jananathan’s idea to make this giant (he stands 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 125 kilos) act in Peraanmai. Now, he has become one of the important attractions of Peraanmai!

PS: Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Roland Kickinger are Austrians by birth!
