Rahman to enthrall Pune on May 31st
Double Oscar winner A.R. Rahman will perform live in Pune on May 31st, 2009. Rahman has currently embarked on a world tour with over 70 artistes, which includes some of his best singersBenny Dayal, Hariharan, Sadhna Sargam, Blaazeandseveral others.
The concert, aptly titled 'Jai Ho', will take place at the huge Balewadi Stadium complex in Pune. Rahman is also expected to address the media at the MIT campus in Pune. The proceeds of this tour will go to the Latha Mangeshkar Medical Foundation. He was in Pune recently to make an announcement about his show and thanked all those who had gathered for their support.
Pt. Hridyanath Mangeshkar, on behalf of the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation, was present to receive Rahman. This is the first time that the renowned music composer has chosen to perform in Pune. The show, directed and conceptualized by Rapport Global Productions, is expected to have the latest technology in lighting and pyrotechnics,thus promising a superb audio-visual spectacle.
Rahman performed in Kozhikode inthe first week of May, and the proceeds of the concert were utilized to provide medical support for children suffering from HIV. Tickets have been sold out already and Pune is all set to jive and sing 'Jai Ho'.
