Nellai Sandhippu, a true story

Cinema is, as they say, a reflection of real life – it holds a mirror to actual events happening around us. There are a million real-life incidents that can be made into movies that enrapture audiences, while also educating them on what’s happening at a city not so far away from their own. In this vein, a movie being made based on true incidents is director K.P.P. Naveen’s Nellai Sandhippu.

“The movie is about an ordinary family whose life is thrown into chaos and turmoil when they are unwittingly caught in the middle of a police encounter. This incident actually took place at a place near Tirunelveli,” he reveals. Adding, “The movie has debutant Senthil, Kovai Babu, Megha Nair and Devika in the lead. Bose Venkat plays an important role. I wanted a villain that nobody was familiar with. Producer Thenappan is a good friend, and I thought he would do well in the part. In spite of his production commitments he was good enough to humour me!”
