Music Review: Sakkarakatti

The romantic movie Sakkarakatti is director Kalaprabhu as well as hero Shanthnoo's debut. Vedhika is the heroine. A.R. Rahman's songs are among the most attractive aspects of Sakkarakatti.

There is something faintly familiar with the tune of 'Chinamma'. Chinmayi and Benny Dayal have given their best to this romantic number.

Reena Bharadwaj will automatically earn kudos for her apt singing in 'Naan Epodhu'. Her voice adds more gloss to the song.

'Elay' is a rustic lyric dressed up in a contemporary tune. Krish and Naresh Iyer croon this novel number.

'I miss You Da' by Chinmaye and Indai Haza will make its way to listeners' hearts.

'Marudani' is a fabulous treat by A.R. Rahman, Madhushree and Henry. The tune as well as the combination of the voices provides a melodious proof to Rahman's melody style.

'Taxi Taxi', a chorus by Blaaze, Benny Dayal and Javed Ali, has already become popular among the youth. Typically tuned and styled like a rap, the song casts a native charm and appeal.

Rahman's compositions sparkle with a brilliance and emotion that is both exciting and memorable.
