Meena's marriage: Three security guards detained
Three security guards, who tried to violently push mediapersons out of renowned actress Meena's marriage ceremony on Sunday at Tirupathi, were detained by the Tirumala police on the basis of a complaint from the scribes.
During the marriage, reporters were not allowed to get into the hall; they were attacked by her security personnel and two cameras were damaged, the complaint said.
The marriage party, which landed at Tirumala on Saturday night for the muhurtham scheduled for Sunday, kept the event strictly out-of-bounds for both the print and electronic media, eventually leading to skirmishes between the two groups on Saturday night and Sunday.
The marriage, performed in a private choultry at Tirumala, remained a relatively lowkey affair with invitations limited only to family members and close friends. After getting married, the newly-wed couple offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara and left for Chennai. A grand reception will be held at Mayor Ramanathan Hall in Chennai on July 14.
