Kamal-Sridevi in Madras High Court

Kamal Haasan and Sridevi were a hit pair in Kollywood – movies  like 16 Vayadinele, Sigappu Rojakkal, Guru, Varumayin Niram Sigappu and Moonram Pirai, to name a few, showcased their abilities to lift the quality of the fare with their synergy and on screen chemistry.

By a strange coincidence, the two were present at the Madras High Court on Wednesday. Kamal Haasan, representing Raaj Kamal Films International, submitted his counter that there was no diversion of funds as alleged by Pyramid Saimira International Ltd. His verdict will be pronounced by Judge Rajasuriya today (Thursday).

Sridevi had better luck when the decks were cleared for the release of her husband Boney Kapoor's home production Wanted. Judge Rajasuriya chose to close the case as the parties came to a compromise after Sridevi deposited three crores before the trial court ahead of the stipulated day of Wednesday.

Should the verdict on Unnaipol Oruvanon Thursday go in favour of Kamal Haasan, it would be a double victory for Mayilu and Sappani – the character names of the lead couple in the silver jubilee hit 16 Vayadinele.
