Ayan music review
Ayan in K.V.Anand’s direction is Suriya’s next after Vaaranam Aayiram. Following Vaaranam Aayiram’s success, his fans and audiences are expecting another fresh effort from Suriya. Ayan, with its right mix of action and romance will be the next milestone in his career and it will also fulfil the fans' expectations. Tamannah is Suriya’s heroine in Ayan. All the five songs in Harris Jayaraj’s music are good.
‘Pala Palakkara’ is a very easy-flowing solo by Hariharan. The tune, rhythm, lyrics as well as Hariharan’s attitude highlight a relaxed feel. ‘Pala Palakkara’ indeed provides a fitting beginning for the album.
Mahathi’s tone makes a completely different impression in her duet ‘Nenje Nenje’ with Harish Raghavendra. Right from her modulation in the intro to the actual body of the song, her voice assumes a remarkably silky texture. With a powerful voice, Harish Raghavendra begins his part from a high pitch note and maintains it throughout the rendition. All in all, both the singers bring about a feeling of a pursuit of true love in the mood of the song.
As the opening line indicates, ‘Honey Honey’ is a sensual number. For these types of songs the voice textures and attitudes of the singers are very important to produce an effect on the listeners. Indeed, singers Devan and Sayanora Philip have done their best.
Karthik’s ‘Vizhi Moodi’ evokes some mushy moments. The simplicity of the song’s tune and the restricted number of instruments used in the harmony reminds us of the yesteryear melodies and therefore, the result is profound.
‘Oyayiye Aayiye’ is by Chinmayi, Haricharan and Benny Dayal. It is targeted at the youth and is a chirpy number.
Harris Jayaraj has reinvented his style through his compositions for Ayan. The songs are absolutely impressive.
