Peek into Dhanush’s near future!

Dhanush’s Pongal treat Kutty may not have gone down too well with the masses, but that has not dampened the actor’s spirits, nor shooed away prospective projects. While he has a long list of stories to pick from, two projects�very close to his heart and well underway, are Maapillai and Aadukalam. Maapillai is directed by Suraaj and is a revamped version of the movie Maapillai that starred Rajinikanth and Amala. “The theme is the same, but it has been rewritten to suit he sensibilities and liking of the youngsters of today,” asserts the actor, who seems to have developed a passion for remakes. But�he informs that Aadukalam is an original script. Directed by Vettrimaran, who gave Dhanush the super successful Polladhavan two Diwalis ago, Aadukalam promises to repeat that magic. The movie is set in the streets of Madurai, which has become the ideal spot for such realistic action flicks. “It’s not easy to describe my character. It’s a very unique one – one that has nothing in common with my previous roles,” insists the actor.
