This is the main and most popular of the six Aarupadai Kavasams as Lord Murugan in this shrine is said to be a incarnation of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Lord Saraswathi, Lord Lakshmi and Lord Gowri. The Lord Murugan in this shrine is said to have the power of all the six Gods mentioned above – Knowledge, Money, Potency, and the Power to succeed in any good endeavor. Since ages, it is recommended that it be recited on Tuesdays and during Shasthi.
