Fifth of the six Aarupadai Kavasams is dedicated to Lord Kumaran, name of Lord Murugan at Thirutanni, fifth of his six shrines. Since ages, it is recommended that it be recited on Thursdays and on the Bharani and Krithika “natchatra” days. This kavasam helps people reciting this poem to succeed in the work they are undertaking, helps people to become good scholars, writers and orators. When recited with total belief by all the members of a family on the Vaikasi Visakam day, it helps the family become wealthy, wards off any evil done by foes against the family, brings good name and fame to members of that family.
