While several filmmakers opt to make films on comedy, emotions and suspense, debutante filmmaker Abrid Shine has made a different flick - with cricket as the lead character in this flick. This film is a real tribute to all cricket lovers all over the world.

The film is about the journey of Rameshan (Nivin Pauly) who aspires to become cricketer in the future. But, his dream is not that easy to achieve, as he has to overcome obstacles. He has to think of his studies, misses his lady love, gets cursed by his parents, yet he is not able to live up to his dream.  Did he achieve success? What has life planned for him? Watch the movie on the big screens to know.

Director Abrid Shine, has brought out a well scripted flick on screen. His tribute to Sachin is awesome. The technical side of the film is brilliant. Pradeesh Varma's cinematography, makes a special mark for himself. Gopi Sundar's music is very appealing, especially the 'Nenjile' song is sure to be loved by the audiences.

Nivin Pauly was extraordinary. Shrinda Ashab looks simple, but brings out very powerful performances on screen. Other supporting characters played by Joy Mathew, Srinda Ashab, Jacob Gredory, Anoop Menon and Dinesh are good.

On the Whole, 1983 is strongly recommended for all cricket lovers.
