Moser Baer acquires Twenty:20 rights
Moser Baer Entertainment, India's No. 1 Home Entertainment Company, has acquired the home video rights of Malayalam mega blockbuster Twenty:20, directed by veteran director Joshi with all major Malayalam stars. The announcement came during a formal launch at Kochi on May 4.
Superstar Mohanlal, who was expected to launch the home video, could not attend the function due to some reasons. In his absence, actor Dileep and director Joshi released the home videos.
Those who attended the function include directors Siddique, Blessy, Shafi, Sibi Malayal and Madhupal, actors Narein, Bhavana, Harisree Ashokan, Nandu Poduval and George. The function was also attended by several top producers and script writers.
According to Moser Baer Entertainment's officials, the company will invest Rs. 120 crores in acquiring home video rights across languages in 2009. The company will release five new Malayalam films at an overall budget of Rs. 22 crore. Notably, Moser Baer last year released DVDs of�Malayalam blockbusters Kurukshetra and Aakashagopuram.
