Lal back to direction?
Lal, a popular Malayalam actor-producer, better known as Lal of the Siddique-Lal duo, has directed some of very popular Malayalam films like Ramji Rao Speaking (1989), In Harihar Nagar (1990), Godfather (1991), Vietnam Colony (1993) and Kabuliwala (1993).
A few years back, Lal stopped directing movies and moved on to producing and distributing movies alongside acting, while Siddique continued directing. Now, reports say that Lal is going to debut as an independent director soon.
It's heard that Lal is all set to direct a sequel to In Harihar Nagar, an out-and-out laugh-riot, released in 1990. The film will feature story and script by Lal himself and will be produced jointly by Lal Creations and PNV Associates. The characters, played by Mukesh, Jagadeesh, Siddique and Ashokan In Harihar Nagar, will be there in the sequel as well.
The film, which is scheduled to start rolling by mid-December in Kochi and Bangkok, will feature lyrics by Bichchu Thirumala set to tune by Alex Paul. The film is expected to grace theatres next summer. Other details are awaited.
