Power star Puneeth Rajkumar recently said in an interview that he was very impressed with the directorial skills of Samuthirakani and was happy to work with him in the Kannada remake of the Tamil movie Poraali.
He that Samuthirakani's films had a realistic touch and that is why he agreed to work in the Kannada remake of the film Poraali under his helm. Earlier Puneeth played the lead in Hudguru that was a Kannada remake of Tamil movie Naadodigal. Nadodigal was directed by Samuthirakani and he was expected to direct the Kannada remake too. But, as he was busy with some other projects that time, Samuthirakani couldn't direct Hudguru which was then directed by Madesha. So, Puneeth feels happy about teaming up with Samuthirakani finally now and he plays the lead under his direction.
