I've four films in hand: Priyamani

2010 was a promising year for National award winning actress Priyamani. She has done nine films last year, including ace Mani Ratnam's much acclaimed Raavanan, its Hindi edition Raavan and Mammootty's Pranchiyettan and the Saint. But coming to 2011, Priyamani could do only one film (Raaj in Telugu) so far and rumours have already started spreading that the senior is jobless.

Rubbing all those rumours, Priyamani said: "That is absurd. How can I or any other actor be jobless when each of us has several films in hand and continues to get offers, while film makers wait patiently for our dates? I, for instance, have four films in hand at the moment: Kshetram, Vishnuvardhana, Lakshmi and Kho Kho."

Notably, Priyamani has been talking about these projects for a long time and when asked about them, she said there is nothing she can do if a project for which she has commited gets unduly delayed.

"Kshetram should have been completed a long time ago, but soon after I signed up for it, there was an indefinite strike call in Tollywood. In the process, I got an unexpected holiday for a few months, but the film's shoot got pushed. When such unforeseen issues crop up, it becomes impossible for an actor to sign new projects, as you are unsure as to when you can allot dates to that project," she added.
