Known for his direction, screenwriting and production in Indian cinema, Subash Ghai turned 70 on the 24th of January 2015.

The National Film Award winner is noted for many great films including Karz (1980), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar (1991), Pardes (1997) and Taal (1999). Starting his career as an actor, Ghai set off for filmmaking. His last release Kaanchi in 2014 didn’t make headlines though.

He now has his own film institute, Whistling Woods International set up in 2006 which trains students aspiring to be producers, directors, cinematographers, actors and animation experts.

We wish him a belated happy birthday and hope that he continues to influence Indian cinema in great ways, like always.
