Bajrangi Bhaijaan has emerged as Bollywood's quickest 100-crore grosser of 2015, making that amount on its opening weekend. The film's gross of Rs 102.6 crore makes it the biggest opener of the year so far, beating previous big releases like Tanu Weds Manu Returns and ABCD 2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan has also fared well in Pakistan, making 1 crore 20 lakh on the opening day and 70 lakh on the second day, despite heavy competition from Pakistani films. Trade analysts expect Bajrangi Bhaijaan to be the biggest hit of Salman's career. However, the film has yet to crack the larger overseas market.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a little different from the usual Salman Khan Eid release as it is more emotional and gives more screen time to Salman's co-stars than Salman's other films. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Harshaali Malhotra have both received acclaim for their performances. Bajrangi Bhaijaan's stellar performance follows the news of the record setting multi-lingual movie Baahubali, making a whopping 300 crore in just nine days. Incidentally, both films were written by Vijayendra Prasad, who is comfortably basking in his success.
