This
is an absorbing emotionally charged film based on the life of Subramanya
Bharati.
Subramanya
Bharati is known as a National Poet who wrote thousands of poems in a
short life. Strange; that an icon of such caliber, had only 14 people
attending to his funeral. That's not all when, he lived our society simply
ignored him.
This film unveils the tragic life of this great man, the story of the
transformation of "Subbaiah" into "Bharati". How society and his family
viewed him & he led his life with thoughts ahead of his times. Bharati
never lost faith in humanity despite all suffering. He was a great optimistic
and a dreamer.
The
story of Bharati is depicted in a series of episodes from his
childhood, early marriage, death of his parents, glimpses of the child
prodigy, and his trip to Benares, Royal patronage, and his flamboyant
attitudes, rebellious journalistic career, his trouble with the British
administration, French refuge and defiance, comeback and death in penury
and poverty while writing some of the greatest poems in the Tamil language.
These are all depicted in this absorbing film narrative.
