man Kamal Hasan and producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu launched their Hindi
and Tamil bilingual with a unique spectacular show where film personalities
who have contributed to the growth and development of Indian cinema were
honored at Nehru Stadium in Chennai on October 18, directors Ramesh Sippy,
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, K.Vishwanath, Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, Bharathiraja
and Saji Kailash, lyricist Vairamuthy and choreographer Tharun Kumar were
felicitated at the function. The vast Nehru Stadium was filled to capacity
by the fans of Kamal and they heartily applauded him when he appeared
on the stage.
After
the muhurat, a get-together and dinner was held at Hotel Meridian and
Kamal showed the warm gesture of himself writing invitation letters saying
"It is a small gathering, hence this small informal note. Please do come,
your presence is essential." The film being made under the banner of V.Creations
has Kamal Hasan as the leading man playing a double role and Raveena Tandon
is the heroine. Hindi title is Abhay and the Tamil title is Aalavandaan.
Mainsha Koirala plays a very special role in the film. Suresh Krissna
is the director with Thiru as his cinematographer.
Lyrics
are by Javed Akhtar. Shankar,Ebsaan and Loy score the music . Raveen,
Javed, Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and special effects expert David Pierce attended
the function and get-together. The shooting for the film started on October
20 and filming work will be over by January. Two songs for both the versions
are already recorded. Thanu is a veteran producer of the South, who has
made a good number of hit films. The unit members of the film met the
Press at Ambica Empire Hotel earlier in the day, where Super Cinema talked
to Kamal Hasan and Director Suresh Krissna.
