Well Begun

The invitees for the Muhurat of his new film, ‘Nayak-The Real Hero’, were simply the who is who ogf Indian Cinema - a galaxy of stars took part in the event in great pomp & show just like the invitation that was sent to them . The invitation, was accompanied by a black grossy catalogue, which had a magnificient visual presentation of the main characters, their relationship and story line. The catalogue had that depth element of larger than life

A lot of mind & money has evidently gone into the creation of this enpowering catalogue goes to prove that the Lord of Big Budget Cinema, Shankar , the hotshot director whose certified hits & money spinners has definied the art of Big Budget movie making.

Anil Kapoor Versus Hrithik Roshan : Controversy Over Title 'Naayak'!

Rumour: It is learnt that you have filed a case against A.M. Ratnam in the producers’ association in connection to the title Naayak, since the title is registered with you. The last we heard was that you were planning to change the title of your film. We have also been told that you are planning to start a project with Hrithik Roshan, to be directed by Rahul Rawail. Please confirm the developments.

Sunil Saini: Why should Bablu and I change our title when we are the sole holders of this title? We have already filed a complaint in the association and we will see to it that A. M. Ratnam does not use this title. It is also unfair that they are using our title with the addition ‘The Real Hero’. We are determined to make sure that they do not get the word ‘Naayak’ in their title. Coming to your other question, I have indeed signed Hrihtik Roshan for Naayak, but apart from him, no one else has been confirmed for this particular project. The script of the film is complete and we are working on the combination dates of the cast and the technicians.

Shah Rukh Khan heading the cast

For commercial reasons, the idea was to have Shah Rukh Khan heading the cast. The reigning superstar was ready to give all the required dates, in bulk (Shah Rukh is in fact understood to have told Shankar that he would like to work in a film under the latter's direction, and will gladly give bulk dates at any point, that all Shankar has to do is ask). Last heard from, the director is not willing to remake his film in Hindi, however. Sources in the Shankar camp indicate that what he is balking at the choice of hero. According to these sources, Shankar's view is that a star of Shah Rukh's stature does not fit the requirements, because his presence will overshadow the actual character he is playing. And Nayak, Shankar believes, works because in the lead character, the predominantly middle-class audiences that make a film a hit can see, relate to, and identify with their own selves.
