Mission Impossible - 4; Ghost Protocol
Prologue: Ghost Protocol is the fourth venture of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible series. Tom Cruise reprising the lead role of super spy Ethan 'adventures' Hunt. The character Hunt has evolved from a team player to lone wolf to the leader of the entire crew in the span of four movies.
Ghost Protocol: The film opens with a hell of a stunt sequence performed by Tom Cruise himself. The plot is pretty much straightforward. The villain obtains the access to the deadliest weapon and wills to devastate the entire world with it. Hunt and his team, working without any support what so ever but in must win situation. The movie has enough twists and turns to keep you stuck to the seat but it never gets so complicated though it has mind boggling stunt sequence.
The reason of the success of Batman is exactly the same in this case, ie. both Batman and Ethan Hunt perform extraordinary stunts which one out of million will dare to, yet not crossing the ability limits of a human being. It hurts Ethan when he falls from a certain height. Any one can hardly find any thing logically wrong in this movie.
You can hardly get dissatisfied by the movie except the portrayal of the Villain which could have been much cruel as he didn't seem like one who has the ultimate weapon which could destroy the world. However all the previous movies of Mission Impossible series had much heavier villain which was very instrumental in carrying the pace of the movies.
But the lack of pace caused by the villain was very well complimented by a greater presence and sense of boom from the female assassin, Sabine Moreau, a pretty yet aggressive woman with a cold rage. Especially her actions lay lot of road blocks to Ethan and His team which kept the audience busy curious.
Simon Pegg reprises his role as Benji Dunn from MI3, the computer specialist at he back end of all the action. Dunn is now promoted from off-radar operations to a fully qualified field officer and as a result gets a much lengthier role in this mission. Pegg's natural comedic timing adds glitter to the movie.
Completing the new team are IMF agents Jane Carter (Paula Patton) and William Brandt (Jeremy Renner) and both actors rendered stunning performances. Patton a sexy/deadly babe in the movie and while Brandt hides a secret past which every one knows for their surprise.
Coming to Anil Kapoor's role as Brij Nath did create loads of expectations in India. Though Kapoor has availed considerable amount of frame space. But it looks like the hype about Kapoor's role in the movie was just for the promotions in Asia using Kapoor's stardom.
The Verdict: Mission Impossible -4; Ghost Protocol is a complete action packed entertainer for any kind of audience. It satisfies almost all the criteria for a good movie. This is the biggest of MI series.
