The permission and all the paper works were all done leading up to scheduled shoot of the James Bond movie Skyfall in India, but the schedule is called off due to the prevailing financial difficulties of Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), the production company of Skyfall. The movie was all set to shoot few scenes in Mumbai, Gujarat and Goa. The movie was also likely to feature a high octane stunt sequence in a running local train in India.

Octopussy (1983), is the last time when a James Bond movie featured India. According to sources the MGM is willing to spend only $150 million when compared to Quantum of Solace's $200 million budged. However, producer Michael Wilson said that they haven't compromised on script in the process of cutting down of production cost.

James Bond Skyfall is the 23rd installment in the James Bond series which is directed by Sam Mendes starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, etc. Skyfall, the 3rd Bond movie for Daniel Craig, will hit the screens in October this year.
